The Producing and Empowering Mardin Conference

An Economic Development Conference with the Project System will be held in Mardin. It aims to leverage significant opportunities for the development and competitiveness of the TRC3 Region.

Organized by the MKA Development and Project Agency, the conference, supported by the EU, aims to organize a strong initiative in Mardin for the implementation of investment incentive supports from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, KOSGEB, Tourism, Rural Development, and other support programs aimed at the development of the region. Alongside this conference, investors will be encouraged to implement EU funds in the region both domestically and internationally. The objective is to create a productive work environment in the region through guiding methods, thereby aiming to create a regional economy that produces and strengthens the national economy.

The necessity of the conference is stated as follows:

“Within the framework of Turkey’s Development Support Plan, several support packages have been put into effect at the transition point to a productive economic system. Based on past implementation experiences of work programs, it was decided to implement some supports more effectively and correctly with a new vision. The Ministry of Industry and Technology investment incentives, KOSGEB, Tourism, rural development supports, Ministry of Commerce, European Union projects, and supports from development agencies aim for regular development. The support provided to investors by support programs differs from the planned support rates. It is observed to be below its real capacity. The conversion rate of these support programs into investments is only about 25%. Nearly 75% of investors do not even demand due to insufficient information, bureaucratic complexities, and misguided directions.”

The conference will be held on June 21st at the Artuklu District Youth and Sports Directorate sports hall.
